Is it safe to book with Marvelous Borneo or any other website sources?
Yes. It is definitely safe to book with Marvelous Borneo Tours & Events Sdn. Bhd. as we are listed in Sabah Tourism Board as licensed local operator. Please be aware that there are several reported fraud/bogus promising websites selling Mount Kinabalu & tour packages without licensing. They can be operated from other parts of the world. Many guests are left stranded in Kota Kinabalu without climbing permits/accommodation or tour as claimed. Do ensure you should receive proper invoice, confirmation & tour itinerary from legal local operators with indication of company address, contact numbers and vehicle type. Do not let these scammers spoil your vacations.
When is a good time to visit Sabah, Malaysian Borneo?
The climate in Sabah Borneo is Equatorial/Tropical – generally hot and sunny all year round with scattered unpredictable rains. The temperature in the lowlands is about 32 degrees centigrade and highlands about 21 degrees Centigrade. Theoretically, the monsoon season is from November to February but as we are in a tropical country, there is really not much difference in seasons throughout the year. Hence anytime is considered a good month to visit Sabah Borneo.

For all our Mount Kinabalu Climbing Tour Packages, a 9 seater licensed tourist van will usually be used. For all other local daily tours, it all depends on the group size. Under circumstances we do use a coach for bigger volume and private cars for small number of SIC.

Borneo food is mostly of Asian influence with an extensive variety of fare. The staple foods in the highlands, jungle and rural areas include rice, noodle, meat, fish and vegetable dishes and fresh fruits. Finding food in Kota Kinabalu city is usually very easy with many restaurants catering to different tastes such as Italian, Western, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian and Vietnamese. The most popular menu selection will be fresh seafood and mostly widely available in the city.
I have a special dietary requirement. Do you cater for vegetarians?
Absolutely. Please inform our sales consultant when making a booking and upon receiving your tour itinerary, please ensure your dietary requirement is written clearly. Though vegetarians can be easily accommodated in most areas, options typically leave out the meat rather than adding vegetarian mainstays such as tofu, beans, or nuts. Vegetarianism is a concept our country is still learning to comprehend.
Please note that unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that special requirements can always be met. In tour packages where meals are served buffet style, we suggest that you leave out the meat.
