STANDARD ITINERARY
DAY 1 [RECOMMENDED BKI-LDU - FLIGHT MH3010/0700HRS]
0735hrs: Meet and greet at Lahad Datu airport upon arrival and proceed to Borneo Nature Tours office for registration and briefing. 0930hrs: Depart for 2 1/2 hours overland journey on adventure gravel road to Danum Valley Borneo Rainforest Lodge. This is the largest protected area of lowland dipterocarp rainforest in Sabah, covering up to 43,800 hectares. 1200hrs: Arrive and check in at the lodge. Lunch will be served. 1430hrs: Slide presentation at Conference Room. 1500hrs: Afternoon trek. Introduction to the forest through 'Nature Trails' and tree top 'Canopy Walkway' 300m in length and 26m at the highest point for a close up observation of the rainforest. 1900hrs: Dinner at the lodge. 2030hrs: Night drive in open-top vehicle in search of nocturnal animals. Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
DAY 2
0700hrs: Breakfast at lodge. 0900hrs: Morning jungle trek. Trek to Kadazandusun burial site 'Coffin Cliff' before proceed to 'viewpoint' for a bird's eye view of the area. Descend to 'Jacuzzi Pool' for a refreshing dip. 1230hrs: Lunch at the lodge. 1500hrs: Afternoon jungle trek or go for a relaxing session of 'Tubing' down the Danum River. 1900hrs: Dinner at the lodge. 2030hrs: Night walk in search of nocturnal animals. Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
DAY 3
0700hrs: Breakfast at the lodge. 0900hrs: Morning jungle trek to the Fairy Falls and Serpent Falls to experience more of the sound and sights of the rainforest. 1230hrs: Lunch at the lodge.
1500hrs: Afternoon jungle trek or go for a relaxing session of 'Tubing' down the Danum River. 1900hrs: Dinner at the lodge. 2030hrs: Optional night drive or night walk in search of nocturnal animals. Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
DAY 4 [RECOMMENDED LDU-BKI - FLIGHT MH3023/1725HRS]
0700hrs: Breakfast at the lodge (Guest at own leisure). 1200hrs: Lunch at the lodge. 1330hrs: Check out and depart for Lahad Datu airport (2 1/2 hours drive).
