Pulau Tiga is believe to be formed by a volcanic eruption over a hundred years ago, it was essentially unknown to the world until it became a household place name in the U.S.A, much thanks to the reality TV show "Survivor". Also known as Pulau Tiga which when translated means island of Three, this untouched piece of natural playground with a beautiful landscape and a bountiful marine life is now open for discovery and stay.
The Pulau Tiga Park covers an area of 15,864 ha and was gazette as a National Park in 1978. As far back as 1933, the main island, together with the two smaller islands of Kalampunian Besar and Kalampunian Damit were designated as Forest Reserve.
STANDARD ITINERARY
DAY 1
0730hrs: Meet at hotel in Kota Kinabalu (KK) city area and transfer to Kuala Penyu town. The journey takes approximately 2hrs drive passing through scenic countryside. 0945hrs: Assemble at Pulau Tiga's jetty in Kuala Penyu. 1000hrs: Depart on a 30mins boat ride to Survivor Island, Pulau Tiga. Briefing on arrival and check-into respective rooms. Lunch will be provided. Jungle trek to the island's mud volcano or free at your own leisure. Enjoy water sports activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, Sand's Spit Snake Island boat trip with minimum fee and payable at the lodge. Dinner at night and overnight.
DAY 2
Morning: Breakfast will be served. 1400hrs: Departure time for return boat ride back to Kuala Penyu. 1430hrs: Meet at Kuala Penyu's jetty and transferred back to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu city area. 1630hrs: Estimated time arrival at Kota Kinabalu city area.
